Stem Borer :

Caterpillars bore a central shoot of seedlings and tillers due to this seedling will be dying.

Diseases In Paddy Rice Crop

Tungro disease: Rice tungro disease is caused by the combination of two viruses, which are transmitted by leafhoppers. It causes leaf discoloration, stunted growth, reduced tiller numbers, and sterile or partly filled grains.

Blast: Rice blast, caused by a fungus, causes lesions  to form on leaves, stems

Brown spot: Brown spot is a fungal disease that infects the coleoptile, leaves, leaf sheath, panicle 

False Smut: False smut of rice affects rice panicles and is known to cause a 41% grain loss.

Sheath Blight: Sheath blight is a fungal disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani.

Sheath rot: Sheath rot is caused by two fungal species, Sarocladium oryzae, and Sacroladium attenuatum. 

Stem rot: Stem rot is a disease caused by a fungus infection in the stem. The fungus that causes stem rot is Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, and Pythium.

The major diseases and insects cause huge loss for paddy rice crop due to traditional methods used by farmers they are illiterate if we are aware them these things and cares they can apply and yield the best products in their paddy crop. in the next post we will discuss the prevention methods.
